RockSpark Communications + Marketing CEO Robin Rockey, APR, spoke about the value of the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) credential in the Feb. 26 California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO) webinar: “Earn Your APR in 2021: Everything You Need to Know to Start Now!”
Rockey, who has served on the Universal Accreditation Board (UAB), the national board that oversees the APR credential, served as a panelist with Rachel McGuire, MBA, APR, and Kathleen Rennie, Ph.D., APR, Fellow PRSA, both fellow former UAB members.
“Earning the APR helped give me the skills and knowledge to create and execute the comprehensive public relations and marketing plans that I use to deliver outstanding results for my clients in the government and business world every single day,” Rockey said. “I encourage everyone in the public relations and government communications field to pursue accreditation.”
The APR is an elite, professional credential that can be earned by PR professionals who demonstrate broad knowledge, experience and professional judgment in the field of public relations. The APR designation signifies a high professional level of experience and competence.
“Accomplishing accreditation is a rigorous process, and only a small percentage of public relations practitioners hold the APR credential,” Rockey continued. “I’m proud to have been CAPIO’s first official APR.”
Members of the following participating organizations may apply to earn the APR:
Rockey will also serve as an instructor in the 2021 APR Study Session Course presented by the Orange County Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (OCPRSA) and CAPIO. For more information about the course, visit the OCPRSA website.
